The Sad Farewell or I'm Going on Vacation, So Don't Bother to Complain About my Lack of Blogging

so, i actually already blogged today, if you're interested.

but i do have something very pathetic and tragic to bring up.

today, we lost one of our nearest and dearest, which is especially sad because i haven't seen her for a few days.

yes, friends, i'm talking about debbie:

look at her there, volunteering for her birthday, sweet girl that she is.

or should i say was?

yes, friends, sadly we must bid farewell to debbie, not just because i'm not going to see her for twenty days, nay, because she has found the evils of guitar hero.



good bye, lovely debbie. you shall be missed...

Idle Hands or How I Bested the Universe

why would i say such a thing? because i suck at it, and anything i suck at is obviously evil. why can't i make my stupid fingers do anything? i'm even having difficulties typing right now! and because i'm feeling so insecure about the things that i suck at, i'm going to catalog all of the things that i am good at. (i want you to know that spelling is NOT one of the things i am good at. i just spent five minutes arguing with bad sean about how to spell catalog--which, if you're curious can alternately be spelled "catalogue," but that's bit too snooty for my tastes.)

and because these are SO important, i'm going to use capital letters.

Things at Which Erin is Good (But Not Great):

Bossing people around. okay, some of you may think that i am great at this. if i were great at it, people would actually do what i "requested" of them. and they often don't. still, they avoid me for days after not doing what it is i've told them to do, so i think that is a measurable level of success.

Eavesdropping. i actually have a highly acute sense of hearing. of course, i probably won't pay attention to what you're saying unless you mention my name. so chances are i won't eavesdrop on you. unless you're talking about me....

Boggle. kris with a "k" won't even play with me because i always beat him. of course, mara usually beats me, but only because i'm always drunk when we play.

Being Drunk. i am pretty good at this, as i've got practice. people can't tell i'm drunk, usually, and i don't know if that makes me better at being drunk or worse at being sober when i haven't had anything to drink. you be the judge.

Eating. mmmm....food....i hardly ever dribble on myself.

Hula Hooping. so, it's not an actual talent to have a center of gravity. but i'm counting it anyway. so there.

Complimenting with Insults. and you're really good at reading my blog, even though you suck at whatever it is you're supposed to be doing right now. procrastinator.

and finally

Getting Bored of this List. i'm so good at it i'm not even going to
